Mispillion Harbor Reserve, Milford, Delaware
Wandering around on the rocks behind the DuPont Nature Center – from time to time, these birds will suddenly take flight all at once, go around in a huge circle, and then land again, sometimes not far from where they started. When they first arrived, they came from behind me, and my only warning was the rustling sound that precedes them before they go rushing past. They’re unbelievably fast.
