Mispillion Harbor Reserve 1/3

Mispillion Harbor Reserve, Milford, Delaware

Just before sunrise, watched the seagulls play king of the post for a while. Rowdy little varmints. The last photo is the classic dislodge maneuver – swoop up and intimidate the current occupant into moving out of the way and take his spot. Then the now post-less seagull goes off to the next post and repeats the maneuver on another. It doesn’t always work, though; sometimes the current occupant doesn’t give and just stands there screaming and looking dangerous.

  1. Photo one certainly demonstrates the neccesity of good and appropriate signage. And thanks for explaining the rules for “King of the post”.
