Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Milton, Delaware

The rain started to fizzle out about halfway through the Boardwalk Loop, but everything was still pretty wet. The last shot is along where the Boardwalk Loop turns back toward the parking lot, but I went the opposite way and walked down the Dike Trail until it started raining again.

I thought the groundhog hole warning was pretty funny, but the only holes I saw were being dug by vandals with a metal detector and a shovel, covering a 6 ft square area of the Dike Trail to a depth of almost a foot as near as I could tell. They were still at it when I walked by, and didn’t even have the sense to look embarrassed about it. I hope they bothered to fill them back in when they were finished and found nothing more valuable than beer bottle tops.
