Bennetts Pier, Milford, Delaware

First time out after a double whammy of back to back nor’easters. We had quite a bit of coastal flooding – road closures and the whole nine yards.

When I went out today, all the ditches down the sides of Bennetts Pier Road were still flooded – another 6-8″ and the water would’ve been up on the road. The raccoon above is swimming across one of them. If I hadn’t taken so long fumbling to change lenses I could’ve had a better photo. When I got down to the beach, it was almost dead low tide – the tide turned about 45 minutes after I got there. There were several new creeks across between the marsh and the Bay, and several more areas where the water was just running across in a sheet to wherever there was a low spot in the clay “cliffs” closer to the water. It was interesting to see waterfalls on the beach.
