So, this is what I’ve been up to recently. I did a watercolor journaling workshop with Rosemary Connelly of Live Cheap & Make Art Studios in Milford, and picked up watercolors for the first time since elementary school. I’m having so much fun, despite the fact that I am dissatisfied with everything I’ve painted so far. Here are the first few pages of my new watercolor journal, which is a 5″x8″ Moleskine Watercolor Journal with a total of 72 pages to fill.
I’m not entirely happy with the actual paper in this journal, and will be keeping an eye out for alternatives to use after I fill it up. So far, the problem I’m running into is that so many watercolor journals only have 12-15 pages, when I’d rather have more. I may just have to settle, though. I really like the Strathmore 300 lb cold press paper in my first watercolor pad, which I only used a few pages from and haven’t scanned in yet.
