First painting of the new year! My sister in law gave me a really nice Moleskine watercolor journal for Christmas, and on January 1, 2013, I cracked it open and started painting. These originals will not be for sale, since they’re part of my personal journal, but I will be listing some prints for sale in the upcoming weeks, both of these and of some of my other original paintings that *are* for sale.
My new years resolutions are really simple this year:
- Create something every day.
- Get up and move.
Both of them have sub-resolutions, like updating this site more often, finding a gallery for my work, getting my Etsy shop populated, and getting some prints of paintings and photos up for sale online, getting my studio cleared out and ready for use, and exploring some new and old media. Many moons ago, I was an art major with a sculpture focus, but life got in the way and after a few moves, shedding material goods all the way, I no longer had the space or materials for sculpture work anymore. I may try to remedy that this year. I also picked up a kiln a few months ago that I haven’t fired up yet, but again, with studio space, I hope to remedy that. And I’ve been doing some writing, although mostly for my own personal edification at this point.
