The first few of these are the approach to the Old Marina Canal (at low tide) and looking west into it. The tide was still rushing out of the marshes at a pretty good clip. Low tide at the Mahon River entrance, a few miles north, was due at 5:38. The other photos were from the walk back, mostly after sunset (4:40pm) during the twilight before it got too dark. I got back to my truck just after 5pm.

I hunkered down at the tide line and waited, and the birds came closer and closer til they suddenly realized I was a person and took off.

No idea what the rusty piece of junk was, but there were pieces of it scattered along the beach for about 1/8 mile.

Sunset stroll on the beach, northbound from the public access up to the Old Marina Canal. It was low tide, so I could have crossed it in one step without getting my feet wet, but it was also sunset and getting quite dark by the time I got back to the public access as it was.
