New York Dance Parade 2008, New York
So I’m sitting in a coffee shop with a friend, and we hear this noise. I said it sounded like a parade, he said it was probably a car stereo, I said no, it didn’t sound like car stereo music, it sounded like marching band music. Sure enough, when I got up to go toss my trash on the other side of the building, outside the window were a troupe of belly dancers.
We stopped to ask the NYPD officer we passed what the parade was for, and he said it was a “Dance Parade”. “That’s it? A Dance Parade? That’s kinda broad…” “Yep, a Dance Parade.”
Should’ve pulled my camera out earlier, but every time someone or a group of someones went by, we thought that was it, then they started coming along more frequently, so I stopped to get the camera out. Not the greatest bunch of shots you ever saw, but you get the idea.
