The water level was so low, I got a different view of the area around the boat ramp than usual, and I couldn’t resist this shot of the boat that’s always there.

The water level this morning was the lowest I’d ever seen it. These barnacles were encrusting the bottoms of the exposed pilings down by the boat ramps, and I bet they weren’t happy about being out in the single digit wind chills!

Single digit wind chills at sunrise, in fact, I took quite a few of these from inside the truck with the window down. The snowy looking stuff is frozen froth and ice.

Port Mahon Wildlife Area

Delmarva Power donated this 340-acre tract of land to The Nature Conservancy on October 11, 1990. The Nature Conservancy will maintain the site as a productive habitat for migrating shorebirds. This is part of Delmarva Power’s program to protect and enhance the environment on the Delmarva Penninsula.
