Dover, Delaware

I pulled into the Target entrance to go buy breakfast supplies for my Valentine, and there were birds EVERYWHERE – there was a whole row of trees that looked just like the one in the first photo. The trees with the most birds were bare, but there were others nearby that were full of berries.

Bowers Beach, Delaware

North Bowers sunrise – 25 degrees outside. The sky was basically one big cloud, but there was a thin spot across the horizon where the sun was glowing through. I parked over by the headboat docks since the public access beach parking lot still had 2-3 ft of snow on it. The plowed areas were mostly solid sheets of ice where the snow had melted and refrozen. It was a very ginger tiptoe across that with my precious camera!

Magnolia, Delaware

After the first blizzard, I drove by on Route 1 and saw these sledders out having a blast, but I had a bag of hot french fries for my husband, and I don’t usually take photos of strangers anyway, so I kept on driving. Someone gave me a bit of a butt kick in the intervening days (about photographing strangers) so when I drove past and saw them again today, I circled around and stopped. Unfortunately I wasn’t planning ahead, so I didn’t have my 70-300mm lens with me, only the 28-135mm.

These guys (their group seemed like about the biggest kids on the hill) had a pretty spectacular wipeout as I was sitting there with my camera pointed at them. ;)
