I dawdled so long down by the mouth of the river, I barely got back to my truck before dusk. I got eaten up a little by mosquitoes near the end of my walk, but it was worth it to be able to listen to the frogs sing down the sun out in the marsh.

One of the things that makes me not really mind when they have the gates closed further out in Ted Harvey (and other places like it) is that the forced extra walk is an opportunity to see and notice the things you just don’t notice when you’re in a vehicle, no matter how slowly you think you’re driving.
